Nothing more than an atempt to come up with a new and lesser-used portmanteau of “planespotting” and “avgeeking”, Flightographs are processed photographs for aircrafts, ranging from passport-real documentation shots to those with heavy artistic touches.

“So you just take pictures of planes?”

I could say that this is the most undersupported hobby of mine, because people rarely understand it. Think of it as travellers taking pictures of mountain ranges and river streams, or foodies taking shots of syruped pancakes or gold-coated rib-eyes. For avgeeks (short for aviation geeks), aircrafts are the feasts.

And don’t forget, foodies have their own preferences of taste, same with avgeeks. I have colleagues that prioritize photo quality and artistic value. For me, it’s rarity, like why collectors feed on limited editions of products. That’s why I roll-out whenever rare stuff flies into JFK, special liveries, old aircrafts, and special events.
